 Another summer has come to an end and we now begin my favorite season of the year, fall! I enjoy the cool mornings, the crunch of leaves under my feet and the display of color that the trees provide. A trip to the Keweenaw in the fall is always special. You really get to appreciate the beauty of nature in this special place!!

 Just a short comment on the increased postage rates. In addition to the two cent increase to mail this Newsletter, the cost of mailing books by Media Mail has gone up in price 17.9% since May 14th. I am working hard to control my mailing costs, while continuing to provide you with excellent service. I am requesting that you add 75 cents to your order to cover the Proof of Delivery charge. I have been paying this on most orders, but I cannot continue to absorb this cost. Your understanding is appreciated.

 Most items in this Newsletter are mailed to you postpaid. Wisconsin residents please add 5% state sales tax. Please make payment by check or money order. Prices in this FALL NEWSLETTER supersede any prices listed in previous Newsletters or Pricelists.  I can insure your package for $2.20. Please advise if you want your shipment insured? I can also ship by Priority Mail for an extra charge. Occasionally publishers run out of stock or change prices. H958  STRIKE INVESTIGATION: BY THE COMMITTEE OF THE COPPER COUNTRY COMMERCIAL CLUB OF MICHIGAN 1913. Reprinted 2007. On July 23, 1913 the Western Federation of Miners called a general strike of all of its members employed in the mines of the Michigan Copper District, and within a few hours, by forcible means and otherwise, every man employed in or about the mines, whether a member of the federation or not, was deprived of his work, thus throwing out of employment an immense body of men. H954  DEBATERS AND DYNAMITERS: THE STORY OF THE HAYWOOD TRIAL by David H. Grover, 2006. WPC  WHITE PINE SHEET COPPER – This is a neat large sheet copper specimen, size approx. 16” long x 7 ½” wide. The copper specimen is from the White Pine Mine   which was located in White Pine, Michigan. There is one  interesting area of black shale on the copper, plus several small spots of shale.
