FP58 SPECULAR HEMATITE CLOCK – Champion Mine, Marquette county, Michigan. Beautiful black hematite with the silver color specks that really sparkle. As the light hits this clock, the beauty really shows. Add the silver color rim around the clock face with the white background and black letters and hands and you have a  beautiful clock. Size 3 ½” x 5” x 1 ½”. $40.00 pp.

FP59 FLOAT COPPER & MOHAWKITE – It is unusual to find a piece of float copper that also contains mohawkite. Mohawkite is mainly a copper-arsenic compound, but also contains cobalt, silver, nickel and iron. This specimen from Keweenaw County, Michigan is 4 ½” x 3 ½”  x 2”. The specimen weighs 4.4 pounds. Areas of the specimen have been buff polished to show the copper and silver colored mohawkite, contrasted with the green patina of the specimen. Scarce! $180.00 pp.

MM327 HOMESTAKE MINING COMPANY BUSINESS CARD HOLDER – The front of the card holder looks much like a belt buckle. Solid brass, size 2 7/8” x 2 1/8”. The Homestake logo is in the center in brass against a black background. The outside of the holder is brass color. Highly polished. Made by Anacortes Brass Works, 1995. Sharp looking! $21.95 pp.

MM334 MANITOWOC WATCH FOB – This watch fob is 1” x 1 ¾”. At the top left is the Manitowoc logo with the crane taking up the rest of the fob. The bottom of the watch fob is actually the tracks of the crane. An interesting watch fob! $25.00 pp.

H880 GUNNISON & SAN JUAN  by Robert E. Strahorn. In 1880 the author came to Gunnison County to see firsthand what the excitement was all about. The result was this interesting overview of the first few years after mining came to what has been termed Gunnison country and the formation of the towns of Gunnison, Crested Butte, Pitkin, and Aspen. Then he turned his attention to the San Juan district to the south and touted that area’s booming towns and mines of the time.
